Why do we have advertising?

MD.Saúde is a completely free website that remains financially viable thanks to advertising on its pages.

The site is authored by Dr. Pedro Pinheiro and Dr. Renata Campos, both specialists in General Medicine and Nephrology, and reviewed by our team of medical experts. We publish approximately 4 to 8 articles per month, averaging 1 to 2 articles per week. Each article undergoes a thorough process, taking around 36 to 48 hours to be fully completed and published while adhering to the following quality standards:

  1. Each article is written only after a careful review of the latest medical literature so that the information is always up-to-date and reliable. In many cases, this means reading about 5 to 10 review articles on each topic.
  2. Before writing any article, we analyze the top-ranked articles on Google searches for a specific subject, ensuring that our article will always be the most comprehensive and easy to understand.
  3. All recent articles are published with personally selected illustrations or photos.
  4. The site receives over 200 comments daily (in portuguese, spanish and english), which are read and moderated one by one. We select only a percentage of questions to be answered daily.

In order to maintain a website with reliable and quality information, we had to reduce our actual working hours at the hospitals that employ us. We sacrificed a significant portion of our salaries to create a website that meets our standards. If it weren’t for the revenue generated by advertising, MD.Saúde would not be economically viable.

We know it’s annoying to have so much advertising, but unfortunately, this is the only way we’ve found not to charge for each published article. Remember that your TV show is often interrupted for commercial breaks, weekly magazines currently have more ad pages than articles, and even powerful platforms like Facebook and YouTube display ads on their pages.

Our current opinion is that the inconvenience caused by ads is a small price to pay for the quality of the free information contained in our articles.

All advertising is distinguished by the words “Google ads,” “AdChoices,” or “Advertising”. Advertisements are the sole responsibility of their respective advertisers and do not constitute any form of endorsement on our part. We do not control the content of the advertisements, and our editorial content is free from any commercial influence. Once again, the display of an advertisement for a product on our website does not mean that its use is approved or recommended by MD.Saúde’s medical team.

95% of the ads displayed on our website are automatically generated by Google’s Adsense program, with no review by the editorial team of this site.

The only treatments we recommend are those described within our articles. We cannot guarantee the effectiveness and/or safety of any treatment advertised, even if registered with FDA.

We are not responsible for any adverse effects or lack of efficacy of treatments advertised in our advertising spaces. We at MD.Saúde do not support the use of substances without prior medical evaluation. We suggest that before purchasing any medical product advertised on our website, users consult their doctors and ask for information about such substances.

The physicians responsible for the website have no professional or financial involvement with private health companies, whether they are clinics, pharmaceutical industries, or health plans. There are no conflicts of interest to report on our part.
